AKK 3D printed jewelry pieces are no different than any other piece of traditional jewelry when it comes to care.
First and foremost, don’t forget to remove your jewelry when applying cosmetics, scents or lotions, or even better, always put your jewelry on last when getting dressed. Please mind that hand wash, chlorine, detergents and oils can all cause tarnishing and damage to the surface finish.
Never wear your gold plated jewelry in the shower or when swimming. Chlorine, especially at high temperatures, can permanently damage or discolor your gold plated jewelry. You should also keep in mind that the plating naturally wears over time, especially as a result of friction or scratching.
Dust, pollution and daily wear tend to dull the surface of precious metals. But with the right care, it’s possible to maintain that beautiful finish on your jewelry. Gently clean your gold plated pieces with a soft polishing cloth. If need be, they can also be cleaned with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush, then dried with a soft cloth.
We don’t recommend using proprietary dips or chemicals when cleaning your jewelry unless you know what you are doing and have read the instructions carefully. Make sure that you rinse off any chemicals that come into contact with your jewelry straight away to avoid build-up which can make cleaning difficult.
As with most precious metals, sterling silver tarnishes. However, if regularly worn, this is less likely to happen as quickly. Polish your silver jewelry with a soft cloth. If necessary, clean it in warm soapy water, making sure that it is rinsed thoroughly and dried before storing.
To keep your jewelry at its best, always store it in its soft cloth pouch away from other jewelry, so pieces do not rub or scratch against each other.
